"I was working way too many hours per week! 20 to 30 hours per event I'm now down to 2 hours per week!"
Can you tell us how you got started in photography?
I always had a love for photography, even before school. Studied fine arts, photography and environmental science. I was travelling overseas and found photography was my voice, a way to share not only what I was seeing but also what I was feeling.
What was the first camera you ever purchased?
Little Canonet and Mamiya RB67 (medium format film camera)
What's the latest piece of equipment you bought?
My iPhone! Hahaha! Currently I am working with Canon equipment though.
On average how many pictures do you take per wedding?
Way too many! Depends on the wedding, 5000-8000 per wedding
How do you find inspiration?
From life itself, the earth, light, energy, love.
What would be your dream assignment and where would it be?
Travelling the world and exploring everything! Fiji, New Zealand, Galapagos islands, the most northern point in the world, the lowest point, the north pole, the south pole, the desert, the jungle, the equator... A dream would be to constantly travel and explore the world! Experience every climate, every ecosystem!
How do you spend your day away from the camera?
At my computer! Or on the phone! Away from electronics, I love to swim, hike, garden. Be with the earth, away from people, at the beach, in the water.
How much time did you spend editing each week before The Image Salon?
I was working way too many hours per week! 20 to 30 hours per event (now down to 2 hours per week!)
Why did you decide to outsource? Why did you choose The Image Salon?
I completely trust Davina and Daniel. Knowing their drive and their attention to customer service, how they are as people, who they hire, I knew everything was done right. I started outsourcing because everything hurt! Too many hours in front of the computer! I was living my life in front of the computer in order to fill the demand of the client.
Now that you outsource, how has your business benefited from the extra time you have?
Putting my time in marketing, being there for my clients, building a network, social media! Definitely putting my time into relationships with clients, growing the business, it's been huge for marketing!!
