Q: WHAT CURRENCY WILL I BE CHARGED IN? DO YOU CHARGE SALES TAX?

A: We currently issue invoices in the following currencies, depending on your location: USD, CAD, AUD, GBP, EUR, MEX, INR. If you are outside those regions, the default will be CAD. For clients in Canada sales tax is added - varying based on which province you are located in.

 

Q: WHO IS RUNNING THE IMAGE SALON?

A: The Image Salon was started by photographers Davina & Daniel Kudish of DAVINA + DANIEL. Over the last 10+ years, they have photographed hundreds of weddings in their hometown of Montreal, as well as all around the world, picking up a few awards along the way. Their WEBSHOP: Post-Production has been a huge hit in the photography industry, and a post-production service is the extension of their teachings. All of the same methods & philosophies are applied when working with other wedding photographers!

 

Q: CAN I DO A TEST RUN?

A: Yes you can! Once you sign-up, we will invite you to schedule a call with our on-boarding team. During that call, they will work on images live with you, iron out your style, and prepare all of your editing preferences so your account is ready for your first order. They will also sit down with your assigned editor to make sure all of the guidelines are properly followed. We have had great success using this approach, and allows you to see exactly how we work without any kind of financial commitment. 

 

Q: WHO'S EDITING MY PHOTOS? WILL THEY TAILOR THE EDITING TO SUIT MY STYLE?

A: We want your images to get the right makeover based on what you like, so we will assign you one editor (for BASIC/BASIC+), always the same, who will work with you, on each of your weddings. With your feedback, you can expect them to reach a level of consistency that suits your style within a few weddings. All of our editors and retouchers work from our studio in Montreal, Canada.

 

Q: I RUN A VOLUME STUDIO - HOW DO WE KEEP UP WITH EVERYTHING?

A: Most of our volume clients are assigned 2, sometimes even 3 editors to keep up with all of the orders. The editors will work as a team to ensure the results are consistent, and the turnaround as prompt as possible.

 

Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

A: From the moment we receive your files to the moment you get them back all nice and pretty: 5-10 business days or sometimes less, depending on the queue that week for your editor. Multiple orders are staggered, and having more than 1 editor on your account is also possible to achieve a faster turnaround. Rush orders are possible as well. Express & Retouching orders are delivered in 3-5 business days.

 

Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 4 EDITING LEVELS?

A: Express orders are done using our in-house approach. There is no customization possible, and orders are completed by the first available editor. With our 2 other levels, BASIC and BASIC+, photographers are assigned their own editor, and the approach is customized to their needs. Between BASIC & BASIC+ levels, the main difference is the burning & dodging (which only comes with BASIC+ level). It will allow us to push your images a little bit more. Cropping is included with BASIC+ edits, and an additional $0.06 per image with BASIC.
Retouching is completed by the first available retoucher, and is fully customized on a per-job basis. During the order process, you will be able to indicate what needs to be done.  

Q: CAN YOU DO EXTRA RETOUCHING? LIQUIFY? REMOVE OBJECTS? 

A: Yes, we offer a full retouching service as well!

 

Q: CAN I SEND NON WEDDING PHOTOS? PORTRAITS, FAMILY, BABY, MATERNITY? COMMERCIAL WORK?

A: Absolutely! Many of our clients shoot non-wedding work during the off-season, and we edit a lot of portraits, families, and maternity/baby sessions as well. We also work with many commercial accounts, such as AirBNB, Luxury Retreats, and Parks Canada.

 

Q: HOW DO I UPLOAD MY IMAGES? 

A: Once you get started with us, you will be able to download our own application. You will then simply have to drag & drop your files into it. It’s quite simple!
You can send in your full RAW files, a LR Catalog with Smart Previews, or DNG files.

 

Q: HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY FILES?

A: If you send in a LR Catalog, we will send back the same. For DNG & RAW files, we will send you XMPs.

 

Q: IS THERE A MINIMUM? A CONTRACT?

A: There are no minimums, ever. And no contracts.
