Can you tell us how you got started in photography?
We started out as competitors waaaay back in the late 90's, but joined forces in 2005 to create Snap. Life is 100% better with a partner!

What was the first camera you ever purchased?
Mariah: Pentax k1000 film camera (in high school)
Trish: Minolta x700 (age 13)

What's the latest piece of equipment you bought?
105 macro lens for Nikon - we love it!

On average how many pictures do you take per wedding?
3000-4000

How do you find inspiration?
Our clients provide the inspiration! The relationships between people and the emotion of the moment is what we love to document.

What would be your dream assignment and where would it be?
Mariah: Traveling anywhere colorful and warm - an underwater assignment would be amazing!
Trish: Photographing cars in Havana

How do you spend your day away from the camera?
We both love to be with our families. Trish loves to swim, craft and read. I (Mariah) like to write, cook, and walk my chubby dog.

How much time did you spend editing each week before The Image Salon?
We don't edit at all - we just cull the images and send to the professionals! Culling takes about 4 hours per job though.

Why did you decide to outsource? Why did you choose The Image Salon?
Because outsourcing is a no-brainer. We need the time we save for marketing our business and we're not good at editing! We chose Image Salon because the website and examples were amazing and the customer service is beyond excellent. We love the individualized attention we get.

Now that you outsource, how has your business benefited from the extra time you have?
Oh yes! We save tons of time, and use that time for marketing, such as creating blog and instagram posts. We have also saved time in the blogging process because the images look so good we don't have to edit them at all for the blog. Additionally, we're able to spend more time on sales and that puts more money in the bank
